NEW Shoestring101 30 Day Challenge!

Okay, so my son Pierce and I did well with our first Shoestring101 30 Day Challenge: Start a small “bizness” with less money than you could probably get by selling some junk on eBay… in our case about $67… and turn it into a small bizness project that returns $1,000 or more in profit in 30 days.

We did it.

And THEN some.

IN today’s post: A NEW 30-day Challenge: Start with no more pocket change than you might spend at the movies, start a business and make $1,000 profit in 30 days or less. Watch and see if I manage it! ~Kurt

Our “Screen Door/Window Screen Mobile Repair” was profitable from the start. In fact, that silly little project has netted me nearly ten grand now, but it’s a little too time-intensive for me to want to do it myself for much longer. Time to subcontract it out, since the marketing and repeat biz is still humming along nicely.

It’s been a while since I’ve contributed regularly to this SS101 blog, so I figger it’s time to shake things up. SOOOO… Introducing a NEW 30-day Challenge:

Start with no more pocket change than you might spend at the movies, start a business and make $1,000 in 30 days.

Shoestring101 is dedicated to the idea that opportunity abounds everywhere, so long as you know the Steps to follow. There are a number of small biz opps that can be started for half of what you might take in with a garage sale, and I’m out here proving it with case studies. In the last challenge, I used the Shoestring Steps to quickly establish a profitable service bizness, which is one of the easiest ways to quickly get productive and turn profits. THIS month (October 2012) we’ll be making an information product as the next bizness idea.

My idea for this came as I was cruising Fiverr.com and came across folks selling their exercise routines. Many of you know that one of my biznesses is a martial arts studio. As a part of their belt examinations, Students at my studio (btw, a la Disney, I always capitalize the word, “Student” to remind me who the most important person at the studio is) must perform a number of pushups, situps, and squats. For many people, the pushups are a big challenge. So what I’m going to market is the solution that we came up with at the studio to help people increase the number of pushups they can do without stopping.

Now, I’ve marketed an information product before. IN fact, a book I wrote about ten years ago about trading the stock market without fear continues to supply me with a good two or three thousand dollars a month in residual income. But it’s a totally different world than it was a decade ago…. social network sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ have made a completely new playing field than I used to market my book.

SOOOO… I’ll be learning and posting as I go.

Now, Steppers… please cut me a little slack. I have a short video on YouTube that shows me doing breathing exercises for high numbers of pushups… and I’ve got a little facebook fan page called, “How to do 100 Pushups in a Row.” These are some things I put out in the blogosphere for review for free by Students of mine and friends. But here’s the deal. I HAVE NO PRODUCT.

That’s right. I think I can deliver my cool pushup-multiplying plan by way of PDF, a couple of videos, and a Members only Facebook group or blog. But I haven’t written the PDF and I haven’t shot any video yet.

So do cut me a little slack on patching this thing together as I go. Hey, I may even discover that there is absolutely no market for a product that help people increase their maximum number of pushups. But if’n there IS… the Shoestring Steps will take that product from my brain and into the living rooms of fitness fans everywhere.

And YOU’LL get to look over my shoulder as I do it.

Oh… and the challenge is, I can’t spend more on this than a night at the movies.

Watch and see if anything really cool happens. I have great exepectations.

See you again soon, Steppers! Ti then,

Keep Stepping!

Kurt
